The Senior Stay story begins in 1978 in Berkeley, California with Dr. Jill O’Brien and a team of nurses that noticed patients would have a higher return rate to the emergency room for non-life threatening injuries once they reached the age of 65 years or older. Instead of ignoring the data, Dr. O’Brien and her staff decided to do something about it.
Whenever an elderly patient was discharged, our founding team would keep in contact with the family. After being invited into their homes, Dr. O’Brien decided to quit her hospital job and bring her team of nurses to focus on caring for their patients after treatment. The commitment and dedication to the people we serve is the cornerstone of Senior Stay’s mission.
“Our mission is to improve the quality of life of the ones we serve while providing uncompromising reliability & comfort.”
We have expanded throughout the Bay Area to provide a high level of service for elderly people. Our regional offices have been voted #1 by The Caregivers National Association for 11 consecutive years.
